Bela publishes its engine-computed shubh muhurat dates as open datasets — CSV and JSON for 2026 and 2027, covering 8 life events with exact windows, tithi, nakshatra, timing score and per-rule counts. License is CC-BY 4.0: reuse freely in apps, research or articles — just cite Bela.

Why we publish the data

Bela's claim is "show the math" — every date on this site carries its per-rule classical breakdown. Publishing the raw output is the same claim one level down: if our dates are right, independent checking should confirm it. The JSON files include the verbatim per-rule breakdown for every date, not just the score.

How the dates are chosen — the gates, weights, prohibited periods and the rules we deliberately do not model yet — is documented on the methodology page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reuse this data in my own app, research or article?

Yes. Both datasets are published under CC-BY 4.0: reuse, redistribute and build on them, commercially or not, as long as you cite Bela (bela.so) as the source. The JSON includes a ready-made citation line.

How was this data computed?

Every row is computed by Bela's deterministic classical Vedic-astrology (drik ganit) engine — Swiss Ephemeris positions, Lahiri ayanamsa, mean nodes — scanning all 16 choghadiya windows per day against the classical rule set. No value is hand-written or LLM-generated. See the methodology page for the full rule list and honest gaps.

Why are all timings for Delhi?

Muhurat windows depend on local sunrise, so a national reference city is used: Delhi (IST, 28.61°N 77.21°E). Dates travel well across India; exact windows shift by minutes. The Bela app recomputes for your precise location.
