Kali Puja dates

What is Kali Puja?

While the North worships Lakshmi on Diwali night, Bengal worships Kali — the fierce, time-devouring, liberating Mother. The worship runs through the night, peaking at the nishita kaal.

Shyama Puja, as it is also called, centres on the great pandals of Kolkata and the cremation-ground imagery of the goddess who stands beyond fear.

Muhurat on Kali Puja

Kali Puja's window is midnight (nishita kaal) on Amavasya night. The listed Abhijit Muhurat serves the civil day; the puja itself belongs to the night, computed per city in the app.
