Varalakshmi Vratam: dates, muhurat and meaning.
The next Varalakshmi Vratam is on Friday, 13 August 2027. The date is computed from the classical panchang for Delhi (rule: the friday on or before shravana purnima). Below are the Varalakshmi Vratam dates for 2026 and 2027, the day's shubh muhurat windows, and what the festival celebrates.
Varalakshmi Vratam by year
What is Varalakshmi Vratam?
The vrata is said to have been taught by Shiva to Parvati and by Lakshmi herself to Charumati. Its promise is the eight-fold wealth — the Ashtalakshmi blessings of prosperity, courage, progeny, victory, knowledge and more.
Being weekday-anchored (the Friday on or before Shravana Purnima), the date moves with both the tithi and the weekday, which is why some years' calendars differ by a week.
Muhurat on Varalakshmi Vratam
The kalasha sthapana and puja are performed in the morning's shubh hours. Use the Abhijit Muhurat above if a single window is needed; avoid Rahu Kaal for the sthapana.
